Setting

Takes place the summer between book five and six.

Summary

Tonks returns badly injured from a rescue mission for Snape, whose cover as a spy has been blown. Not having anything else to do, Snape volunteers to act as a nurse for Tonks and so begins the summer for the unlikely pair, alone together in a safehouse cottage of the Order.

Review

This is the only completed Snape/Tonks romances I’ve read so far, and I believe there really should be many more of them!

Featuring Tonks as one of the main characters, it of cause contains a various number of mishaps, turning it into a quite funny story. It is also quite surprising how well these two Harry Potter characters can be made fit together in a very believable way and not at all out of character.

Written somewhen between the publication of book five and six, the author did a very good job on the portrayal of Tonks’ clumsiness and her witty but still sensitive character and dear old Snape is absolutely heartbreaking in the dealings with his feelings and his, at times, quite awkward attempts at rapprochement. 

A nice change from the innumerable Snape/Hermione romances with an ingenious plot and a rare pairing, just with a few writing weaknesses.
